There Is No Better Time
There are so many arguments
Of dates and source and rights
That mingle with this Christmas time
And it’s commercial lights.
We sometimes miss the chance that Paul
Had grabbed so long ago,
When he had used the unknown god
To point to God below.
So much is wrong, the sceptics claim
In all this celebration,
But do they take the time to point
The world to Christ’s salvation?
There is no better time to show
The reason that He came —
His birth, death, resurrection,
Redemption in His name.
How can we cling to prejudice
And miss the chance each year
To sing His praise from grateful hearts
For this lost world to hear?
