Mardecai Ham 1877 – 1961 Mordecai Ham was a powerful American evangelist during the first half of the 20th century. He was converted under the preaching of Billy Sunday. Coming from eight generations of Baptist preachers, Mordecai Ham entered the ministry in 1901. He fearlessly preached against vice and corruption, exposed sin, and rebuked modernists. Inspired by his grandfather to speak plainly and forcefully, Mordecai Ham described himself as “a hog-jowl and turnip green” preacher.
